- Sunshine: Kihei sits on Maui's dry, leeward side, so it gets less rain than much of the island.
- Beaches you can walk to: Kamaole Beach Parks I, II and III, Keawakapu, Charley Young and Kalama Park are all along South Kihei Road.
- Everything close by: grocery stores, restaurants, coffee, snorkel and paddle-board rentals, and shopping are spread along the main road.
