The beach and the area
The beach in front of Kaanapali Shores is part of the long stretch of sand that runs north from the main Kaanapali resorts. It's a good spot for morning swims and for watching sunsets over Lanai. Honokowai, with its beach park, small shops and places to eat, is a short walk north. The Kaanapali golf courses, Whalers Village and Kapalua are a short drive away. Humpback whales pass close to this coast from December to April.
Getting to Kaanapali Shores
Kaanapali Shores is about an hour's drive from Kahului Airport (OGG), along the coast through Maalaea. Most guests rent a car. Seasonal nonstop flights to Kahului run from Vancouver, and in season also from Calgary and Edmonton. Schedules change, so check with the airline.
